You're invited. My new photo book will be launched on October 26, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., sponsored by the Caldas da Rainha City Council. Location: Small auditorium of the Caldas da Rainha Cultural and Congress Center. The book is titled "88 (88 images), a continuation of the book published in 2020 (under the title "99") – thus constituting a duology. The images in "88" were taken primarily in the triangle: Caldas da Rainha, Foz do Arelho, and Óbidos. Since this region has not been a backdrop for other street photographers, it constitutes a unique photographic collection. It measures 330 mm x 225 mm (hardcover), 184 pages with photos only on the odd-numbered pages, and an Afterword written by the excellent British photographer Paul Russell. The author's shadow appears as a guiding thread throughout the sequence. A way of being, symbolically, behind the camera and in front of it, also participating in the composition. Inspired primarily by the philosophy of Street Photography, this attempt was made to discover the extraordinary in the ordinary, everyday. An original quest for miracles at the mercy of light. Beyond the protagonism of color and the play of light and shadow, stories, humor, enigmas, and mysteries are hidden within the frames.
